Improving Packaging Sustainability
We’re conscious about how what we do impacts the environment around us. To reduce our carbon footprint, we’re dedicated to improving the sustainability of our packaging by July 2022.
Nuts Packaging
We're committed to reducing the plastic packaging by 20% in our entire Nut range by July 2022. This covers 21 products within the range and will result in a saving of 9 tonnes of plastic per year. This is equivalent of 346,000 traditional plastic drink bottles - enough to build a 74km line from end to end!
We're 20% better than yesterday - a huge step in the right direction for a cleaner New Zealand.
Cardboard Packaging
Our Nutritious Snacks cardboard packaging is already recyclable and is made 100% from Sustainable Forests. We’re taking it a step further by switching to water-based ink, starting with Fruit Sticks range. This non-toxic ink is a great environmentally conscious alternative. It doesn’t contain PVC plastics, leads, metals or any chemicals that impact the ozone layer.
This change will be in full swing by July 2022, a huge step in the right direction for a cleaner New Zealand.
